Automatic winding and VORTEX spinning are different
Muratec identifies QPRO as an automatic winder and VORTEX as a spinning machine. VORTEX spins yarn from sliver and forms packages as part of its process; it should not be grouped with standalone automatic cone winders. A VORTEX inquiry needs its own model and package-support specification.

What to send for a QPRO or Process Coner inquiry
- Exact model and configuration from the nameplate/manual; include the winding head or holder reference when available.
- Taper designation, cone length, top/nose inner diameter and base inner diameter, with measurement positions and agreed tolerances.
- Holder and spindle-seat requirements, wall thickness, rim profile, notch position and dimensions from an approved drawing.
- Yarn fibre and count, intended package weight, winding settings and the current finish.
- A reference cone or dimensioned drawing; photographs provide context but cannot establish dimensional fit on their own.
QPRO, QPRO EX and different Process Coner configurations must not be assumed to use identical cones. Review the buyer’s documentation before agreeing a sample. See paper cone specifications and the machine matching guide.
Sample matching before a repeat order
Agree the proposed dimensions and finish, then arrange a trial sample. Check seating and release, rim condition, inner-wall finish, initial yarn grip, package build and unwinding on the buyer’s own setup. Record the trial settings and acceptance criteria. Approve the sample or drawing revision before a volume order.
Smooth, velvet and embossed finishes are options to discuss; the yarn and operating conditions determine the trial, rather than a blanket finish recommendation for the whole Murata brand.
