Specifications to confirm before you order

Before committing to any paper cone supplier, confirm these points:

Taper angle — must match your winding setup exactly. A mixed taper in one batch causes inconsistent package build and stoppages.

Cone height and nose/base diameter — must fit your machine holder. Common textile cone heights are around 170–175 mm but confirm the exact dimensions for your machine.

Surface finish — matched to your yarn type. Wrong finish causes slippage, broken ends and stoppages traced to yarn when the cone is the real cause.

Wall strength and GSM — affects package stability and survival through doffing and transport. Ask the supplier what paper weight they use.

Nose and base integrity — soft or deformed ends crush in automatic loaders and cause loading jams. Check sample ends before scaling.

Lot-to-lot consistency — a single good sample is not proof. Ask how the supplier controls consistency across production runs.

Always run an approved sample on your own winder before placing a bulk order.
